Christian Nesvadba

Christian Nesvadba was born 1977 in Vienna as son of the well-known painter Gerhard Nesvadba, whose roots originate from a family with an artistic heritage spanning several generations.

Participating in ordinary school systems, his talent for drawing was soon recognized by many of his professors, so he began attending a school specializing in drawing and engineering. One of his engineering professors once said "Nesvadba always has an idea to give our technical drawings an artistic value". In the end, engineering was too technical for a young man like Christian and he decided to devote himself to a more artistic career. His first major award was the prestigious SalzBurger Kulturfonds Prize, earned when the artist was just 20 years old.

Nesvadba’s first, and most important tutor was his father, Gerhard, who was a celebrated and highly successful artist. Nesvadba's first paintings were created on his father's easel. Although he learned a great deal about drawing from his father, he soon developed his own sense and style of color - bold, fresh and extremely vibrant.

Christian Nesvadba has an amazing love of flowers. His eye for color, movement and mood are exquisite and his compositions of riotous Impressionist flowers are exciting, bold and unique. He travels extensively and is an ardent photographer. This is how he collects his ideas for new subjects and compositions. Nesvadba’s paintings nearly explode with color and light.
