Jaime Hernandez Fernandez was born in 1947 in Navamorales, Spain. In 1949 his family moved to Lleida. It was there that he discovered the powers of painting. Fernandez started his initiation to painting by studying the masters of classical art and their techniques. Through a slow process of assimilation, he developed an expressive style that has combined the permanence, power, and nobility of classical paintings with the expressive forcefulness of modern art. It wasn’t until 1976, when he started participating in competitions and in shows, that Fernandez felt confident in his ability to manipulate paint. Since then he has won more than 90 prizes for his paintings. Due to his artistic recognition and merit, Fernandez was named a Corespondent Academic of the International Academy Grecci Marino Academy Del Verbano of letters, arts, and sciences.
