Joy Broe

Joy Broe was born in New York City in 1948, an only child of working parents. Early on she displayed an interest and talent in art, so her parents helped her to enroll into New York's acclaimed High School of Music and Art. After graduation Joy was presented with the opportunity to live in Europe. Being greatly influenced by the French Impressionists, Joy was thrilled and truly inspired to be surrounded by works of the masters such as Monet, Renoir and Pissarro. She was very impressed with the European love and respect for history and the arts.

After returning to the United States, Joy began working with a fellow artist who was established in the art community. He guided her through the process of channeling her inspiration and soon she began producing and selling her own artwork. Joy's greatest satisfaction at that time was being able to make a living using her artistic talents.

Many years have passed since those early days in NYC; however, Joy still strives with each piece to impart a sense of emotion. She does not try to capture reality, but rather tries to create artwork that excites feelings. Her works have been described as inspiring tranquility, mysticism, and bliss. Joy’s goal with each piece is to invoke an emotional response through her design elements and color palette.
